Of course you should do what was right in the eyes of  the lord not in the eyes of your self or your own eyes. That's because if every one does what was right in his own sight, he will neglect by doing that the prohibition that Moses had done. Only the lord is the one who judges and determines what's right and what's wrong as the lord weighs the hearts. "Every way of man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts." (Proverbs 21:2).
