Ripened tomatoes should be kept in the fridge, yet you should allow them to get ready to room temp prior to eating them. This is on the grounds that chilly tomatoes can be somewhat dull in the taste . Allowing them to hang outside the fridge for a day or two (or even 60 minutes) prior to eating them can bring back a portion of the taste.
