Hadrian’s wall was built in AD 122 by the Roman army depending on emperor Hadrian orders during his visit to Britain. The wall was At 73 miles (80 Roman miles) long and it crossed northern Britain from Wallsend on the River Tyne in the east to Bowness-on-Solway in the west.
