‬‏The word 'renaissance' is a French word which means rebirth or revival. That period is called Renaissance era because it's a beginning of a new era of art, learning Ancient Greek and Rome and using that knowledge to make modern techniques.

It had begun in Italy in the 14th century and reached its height in the 15th century. Then the Renaissance of all Europe was in the 16th and 17th centuries.
