Foot swelling occurs through the following reasons:

- Taking some medicines that cause fluid retention and thus the feet swell, such as medicines for diabetics and some medicines that treat chronic diseases such as heart and pressure

- Exposuring to an injury to the foot such as a fracture or the trunk. If the necessary medical intervention is not taken, then it swells

- Pregnancy and this usually occurs during pregnancy

- The occurrence of a blood clot in the foot

- Standing for long periods or sitting for long periods, which hinders the return of blood to the heart.
