x-ray tubes produce x-rays as the following happens:
The voltage exerted inside the X-ray tube accelerates the electrons towards the positive pole, giving them energy. Then the electrons collide with this pole, and energy is emitted from interaction with the anode atoms, which produces X-ray photons
